Thomas Hauptman, age 64, of Wichita Falls passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2017, following a battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held at  9:00 a.m.Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Floral Heights United Methodist Church. Tom spent all of his life loving music. He endured nearly twenty years with the Burlington Northern Railroad and never lost that love. After leaving the railroad he we back to school and completed his music degree; graduating cum laude from Midwestern State University in 1996. He spent the ensuing twenty years passing on his love of music to the numerous students that have been under his tutelage in Petrolia as well as Zundy Jr High and Wichita Falls High School. As well as teaching, Tom touched countless lives while he was in numerous bands throughout the years; from classical and big band to jazz, funk, and classic rock. Survivors include his brother, William Hauptman and wife Marjorie of Brooklyn, his children, Matthew Riley and wife Hilary of Austin, Daniel Onley and wife Tonya of Broken Arrow, Joel Onley and wife Shawna of Albuquerque, and Bonnie Hauptman of Wichita Falls, and fifteen grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Shelia and his daughter Elizabeth. Papa-Tom we will miss you.
