Cynthia M. "Cindy" (Jones) Smethie was born on January 27, 1953 and passed away on Friday, July 7, 1995 at the age of 42 in Wichita Falls. She was married to David Smethie on November 27, 1976. They have two sons, Kevin & Randal Smethie. Cindy taught kindergarten & first grade at Fannin, Alamo, Kate Haynes & Sheppard Elementary Schools. She was chosen Teacher of the Year at Fannin in 1993. She retired from teaching in the Wichita Falls ISD in 1994. Cindy died of bone cancer. She also lives a sister, Rita Gail (Jones) Taylor, to mourn in her passing.
