Dick was best man in our wedding. We remained very close all the years knowing well his wife, Rita, (who we still visit). He was truly a brilliant man earning 3 degrees in math and physics from UT. He later went on to become a senior VP at Texas A&M where he raised $100's of millions of dollars for the university. He was a much sought after speaker on very complex issues of oil, etc literally all over the world. I truly miss him. He left a great legacy in his three sons, John, Larry, and Brad.
For those who don't know, Dick died of a heart attack driving home from TAMU. He was probaby less than a mile from his house. His car coasted slowly to a stop against the curb. Paramedics came but he was already gone. His wife, Rita, was only a few minurtes from being home herself. She drove up right after the ambulance had left. The paramedic told her what happened. Dick was 62 I believe.
