Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Tage Cemetery in Montague County with Pastor Jimmy Dillon officiating.

Jack was born on February 25, 1950 in Madera, California to the late Delmer Doyle (D. D.) and Carrie Jean (Thompson) Byas.  He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School.  He married the love of his life, Dianna Kay Ballard on August 24, 1968 at First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, and the couple were married for 54 years.  Right out of high school, Jack went to learn the art of crafting fine jewelry, and he owned his own jewelry stores in Archer City, Graham, and Olney.  He then joined Max Kruger at Kruger’s Jewelers for 28 years before retiring.  Jack loved his workshop and woodworking.  He also loved to fish.  Jack served as a deacon at Trinity Baptist Church, and was a very committed Christian.  He was a gentle giant, who was a friend to everyone.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife; daughter Dee Dee Marie Byas of Wichita Falls; son Jason Jack Byas and wife Kristen of Holliday; seven grandchildren; brother Donnie Byas and wife Teresa of Wichita Falls; and Sister Kathy Byas Adams and fiancé John Schenk of Wichita Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jacks’ name to Trinity Baptist Church, 4016 Jacksboro Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302, or Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
