Annette Henigan
June 5, 1950 - March 26, 2023
Weatherford, Texas - Annette Louise Caley Henigan walked hand in hand with Jesus to her eternal home. She was born June 5, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lawton Pascal Caley and Garnetta Lavia Bell Caley. Annette graduated Wichita Falls HS, and attended Midwestern University, prior to moving to Ft Worth in 1974, and then to Weatherford in 1976. She had a career at SW Bell Tele/AT&T for 33 1/2 years. In 1976, Annette married John Doyle Henigan. She loved being a mom, a Nana, and a great-aunt, "Annie". She did not want to miss out on any aspect of motherhood, and was active as a school volunteer, room mom, team mom, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and PTA. Annette was a lifetime member of the National PTA, member of the Fort Worth Chapter DAR, and she loved to plan Happy Hours, showers, retirements, and birthday parties with friends. Having a deep but simple faith, she spent 18 years in Bible Study Fellowship, and many varying bible studies through her church. Also, Annette was passionate about genealogy and family stories and was an avid reader. One of the things she loved most was singing to her granddaughter Eleanor, much to the dismay of all within earshot!
Annette's favorite quote was by Walt Whitman --"I no doubt deserved my enemies, but I don't believe I ever deserved my friends."
Annette is survived by her first and only husband, John Doyle Henigan; son, John Henigan (Renee') of San Antonio; stepson, Ted Bradshaw (Stephanie) of Austin; five treasured grandchildren, Lillian, Juliet and Eleanor Henigan; and Megan and Jacob Bradshaw; sisters, Carol Caley of Burleson, Marilyn Juul (Doug) of Wichita Falls, and Cindy Carlton of San Antonio; along with numerous adored nieces, nephews, and "great-babies".
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Central Christian Church, 1602 S. Main Street, Weatherford, TX 76086; officiated by Dan Simmons. Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eleanor Henigan Care fund, contact John Henigan: Central Christian Church Bldg Fund, 1602 S. Main, Weatherford, TX, 76086; or Morgan's Wonderland, San Antonio, TX.
