Vanita Jane Standridge, 58, passed away Friday, February 27, 2009, in Wichita Falls.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Antelope Baptist Church with Rev. Will Aston, officiating. Interment will follow at Antelope Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

Vanita was born on July 16, 1950, in Mangum, Oklahoma. On August 21, 1987, she married Kenneth Standridge. She was a homemaker, and a member of Antelope Baptist Church. The life of the party, Vanita never met a stranger, and always had a smile on her face. She was a lifetime dedicated P-2 volunteer who could tell a story like no other, and was known for always having her hair and nails perfect at all times. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, and watching her grandchildren play sports. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Standridge; her father, Lawrence William Coker; sister, Annette Coker; and her granddaughter and great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her three daughters, Tonia Coker of Hallettsville, Laura Young of Wichita Falls, and Crystle Grissam and husband Gary of Chickasha, Oklahoma; her mother, Margie Guffey of Wichita Falls; stepson, Michael Standridge of Woodland Park, Colorado; three brothers, Calvin Coker of Wichita Falls, Sherman Coker of Baytown, and Adam Coker of Wichita Falls; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her two very dear friends, Jean Woodley and Debbie Dunn, both of Wichita Falls.
