Janie was born May 3, 1950 in Greeley, Colorado to the late Ben and Beverly Erwin. The family moved to Big Springs, Texas when Janie was very young. They then moved to Wichita Falls where she graduated from Old High and spent the rest of her life. Colorado always held a very special place in her heart though. She and her family would return there many summers to the family's cabin in Estes Park.
Janie was a very giving person and she ended up with her perfect job running the County Welfare Office for many years. She also played apart in opening the Wichita Falls Maternity Cottage. Later in life she found her new home running the family owned business of Dipping Dots at Sikes Senter Mall. She loved her mall family and meeting and visiting with new folks everyday. Janie was always smiling and willing to make a new friend.
Janie is preceded in death by her husband Richard Lott; son, Chris Lott and parents Ben and Beverly Erwin.
She is survived by her son Kevin Lott and wife Deidra; daughter Shelly Wikel and husband BJ; brother Bill Erwin; niece Elizabeth Hirst. She was lovingly known as Granny to 9 grandchildren; Jared, Sidney, Gracie, Emily, AJ, Thomas,Jordan, Taylor and Ethan.
