Ernest Bell Green III

Ernest Green

Ernest “Mickey” B. Green, 64, of Wichita Falls, after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer, broke the bonds of earth to reach his destination of home with our heavenly Father on Saturday, September 6, 2014. In the opinion of his family, peer, co-workers, other friends, and especially his fellow choir members at Our Lady of the Skies Catholic congregation at SAFB, Mickey is so deserving of the blessings he should now receive in this dimension to which he has ascended and to which we all aspire. He not only carried the identity, Mickey was a role-model Christian in life. In his extensive knowledge of Scripture, he habitually sought to impart to others in the way of teaching religion classes and mentoring youth in their journey toward a stronger faith. He served as Eucharist Minister and contributed to the choir by both voice and instrument. Though greatly sadden for ourselves, we are so joyful for Mickey who must be finally home and experiencing a peace that we can only imagine!

Mickey was born to Ernest Bell Green, Jr. and Barbara Horton Green in Wichita Falls, TX on December 31, 1949. He married Cynthia Oakey whom he knew growing up in Wichita Falls on March 23, 1968. They lived an raised their family in Wichita Falls with a short stint in Shreveport from 2002 to 2010 before moving back to Wichita Falls. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1968 where he participated in the Acapella Choir. Mickey worked at the General Motors AC Delphi plant in Wichita Falls and later the GM plant in Shreveport, L.A. from which he retired in 2010. Mickey is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cynde; children, Scot Green and wife, Lisa and Shawn Green; grandson, Gage Green; granddaughter, Jordan Green; sister, Nancy Kelley and husband, Stan; nephews, David Kelley and wife, Deborah and Patrick Kelley and wife, Lisa; also many grand- nieces and nephews.
