In Memory

Jo Beth Mc Donald (Mitchell)

JoBeth McDonald Mitchell, 71, lifelong resident of Wichita Falls, was called home Sunday, December 26, 2021.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in the chapel of University United Methodist Church with Dr. Dave Hartman and Rev. Tom Medley officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

JoBeth was born on August 12, 1950, to the late Joe & Jean (Menefee) McDonald. The perfect blend of her mother’s spunk and her father’s love, she grew up in the Wichita Falls community, graduating from Wichita Falls High School. After meeting through the Red Cross during the 1979 tornado, she fell in love with Greg Mitchell and they wed on April 19, 1980, in Wichita Falls. Her professional career endeared her to the staff and congregation of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and to the community through her employment with United Market Street.

The love of God, family, and friends were her life. She had a generous heart and was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi and could also be found cooking meals for others alongside her husband. She was quite creative, too, decorating and crafting in her free time, especially as a gift to others. However, she would tell you that her greatest accomplishments are the ones she left behind. “To my darling children and grandchildren, you are my most precious gifts from God.” She was a loving wife, Mama, and Neenah/Nonnie who will be dearly missed.

JoBeth was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 41 years, Greg, and her parents, Joe & Jean McDonald. She is survived by daughter, Kellianne and husband Robert Frazier of Temple, TX, and daughter, Stephanie and husband David Lindsay of Brownwood, TX; her grandchildren, Chadwick Frazier and wife Michelle, Darien Frazier, Garrett Frazier, Matthew Mitchell, Keaton Mitchell, and Grace Frazier; and great-grandchildren, Matilda and Silas; as well as extended family and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or to your favorite charity.
