Ann Roberts O’Hara died November 2, 2014 in Dallas. Services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Church of the Incarnation at 3966 McKinney Ave in Dallas, Texas.
Ann was born on October 1, 1950 in Wichita Falls to Dr. Dan Roberts and Mrs. Eleanor O’Hara Roberts. After graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1968, she attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Arts in Education. While in Austin College, Ann had the privilege during the January terms of traveling to such places as Hawaii and Mexico to study. In addition, she spent one semester of her senior year on World Campus Afloat sponsored by the University of California.
After college, Ann married and began her teaching career in Houston where her first child, Shelley, was born. She later returned to live in Wichita Falls and had two more daughters, Jane and Caroline. At the age of 40, Ann returned to school to pursue a career in counseling. She received a Master of Education in Counseling from Midwestern State University. Ann used her clinical expertise and compassion for others to serve the Wichita Falls community at The North Texas State Hospital, Helen Farabee Center, Rose Street Clinic and Red River Hospital.
Ann married Keith Hall in 2004 and warmly welcomed Keith’s daughters, Brooke, Rebecca and Heather into the family. Ann and Keith later moved to their current home in Cedar Hill, Texas and Ann began working at Children’s Medical Center Dallas where she later served as the Practice Administrator of the Psychiatric Day Treatment program.
Ann is survived by her husband, Keith Hall, and their combined family of six daughters. The children are Shelley Williamson; Jane and Kyle Ballard and son, Benjamin; Caroline and Aaron Mooi and son Maxwell; Brooke Hall and son Raz Armstong; Heather Burke and daughter Halleigh Castleberry; and Rebecca and Barry Muth and daughter Savannah.
Ann’s smile and laughter were infectious, and her honesty, empathy and openness allowed her to make friends wherever she went. Ann shined in her roles as a mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, colleague and friend. Her legacy is enduring and her example inspiring.
