In Memory

Ted L. Swinney

Ted Lowell Swinney, 59, went to heaven on August 14, 2014 after battling a brief illness.  Ted was born on March 12, 1955, in Wichita Falls to parents Dean and Emilie Swinney.  He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1973.  After graduation, Ted attended the University of Texas at Austin.  While at UT, he was an active member in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and the Texas Cowboys.  He formed countless friendships through both of these groups that he held dear for the rest of his life.

After college, Ted moved to Dallas and worked at several different companies before forming a real estate brokerage company, TLS & Associates.  Following TLS, he opened Anteks Home Furnishings which showcased his unbelievable talent for creative furniture and home design.  His most recent endeavor was starting a new store, Geronimo's Collection, with his children in Fort Worth.  It proved to be one of the greatest gifts from the Lord for Ted and both of his children.

Ted's favorite times in life were fly fishing in Colorado, and spending time at River Bend Ranch with his children, family and friends.  His larger than life personality made him a friend to many, and we will deeply miss the way he loved those he cared about most.

The celebration of Ted's life will be held at 2pm Monday, August 18, 2014 , at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents CD & Laura Knight, and his paternal grandparents Dolly Todd and Cecil Swinney.

Ted is survived by his parents Dean and Emilie Swinney of Wichita Falls,Tx, his daughter, Natalie Cooper and her husband Matthew Cooper of Fort Worth, his son, William Lowell Swinney of Dallas, and his grand-daughters Elise and Ensley Cooper, who became the light of his life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Ted's honor can be made to the Interfaith Housing Coalition of Dallas, a faith based group helping homeless families transition to sulf-sufficiency and new hope or to the Texas Cowboys c/o The Texas Exes - Texas Cowboy Permanent Scholarship Fund, or the charity of your choice.
