Ronald Ray Davidson, 75, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on June 23, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 2, 1946 in Carthage, Texas to the late Ray Vertnor Davidson, Jr. and Mary Sunshine “Sunny” (Cudworth) Davidson. He attended Rider High School of Wichita Falls, Texas and Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls and graduated from North Texas State University, Denton Texas. In college he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity where he made many lifelong friends. While attending Midwestern he met Janell (Nicholson) Davidson of Borger, TX and they were later married at First United Methodist Church of Borger. Throughout their life, they lived in four states and enjoyed many wonderful trips across the country and abroad. One of his greatest enjoyments was the planning and organizing of vacation trips and cruises for his friends and family.

Ron liked all sports, especially playing golf and watching football. He was an avid and excellent golfer and a volunteer at the Byron Nelson Golf Classic for over 30 years. In younger days, he played catcher on many softball leagues and was an exceptional snow skier.

Ron’s lifetime career was in sales and sales management for various companies and he retired from EnerSys in 2013. During his career in the telecommunications industry, he served on the Board of Directors of Texas Communications EXPO, Inc. and was actively involved in the Texas Telephone Association where he was presented an award as Associate Member of the Year.

Survivors include his wife, Janell; Daughter Jennifer Janell Davidson and grandchildren Quinn Newbern, Delaney, Sadie and Ryder Davidson; Son Rod Vernon Davidson and wife, Paige and grandchildren Rhett and Knox Davidson; Sister Claudia Davidson Carroll and husband, Otis; Brother Kenna Davidson and wife, Dana and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Sunny Davidson; Grandparents Ray Vernon and Claudia “Todie” Davidson and grandparents Daniel Boyden and Martha Irene Cudworth.

A Celebration of Life and Resurrection Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., July 7, 2022 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S Belt Line Rd, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 and reception visitation held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Vera Cruz Restaurant, 1427 S. Hwy 67, Cedar Hill, TX following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any of the following: The American Kidney Foundation, American Cancer Society, The Order of Kappa Alpha Fraternity or Cooks Children’s Hospital of Fort Worth.
