Sharrell Witt (Milhollon)

Sharrell Witt Milhollon, 68, passed away Feb. 24, 2015, in Llano, Texas. Sharrell was born Nov. 7, 1946, in Abilene, Texas, to Ruth Jeannette Osbourn and George Bernard Witt.  She graduated from Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas, and then attended Midwestern State University.

Sharrell married Sherman Travis Milhollon on Nov. 26, 1965, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She retired from the IRS after 30 years in the Austin and Oklahoma City service centers.

Sharrell loved singing, whether in the school choir, at church or around the house. She was also an avid reader and loved to share her latest thriller with friends and family.  Sharrell enjoyed genealogy, and her love of family and family history led her and Travis to pick Llano as a home for their retirement, a decision that brought all the joy and pleasure for which they hoped.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years; son, Aryn Milhollon and wife Connie of Harriman, Tennessee; daughter, Corry Rogers and husband Jeremiah of Canton, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Sharrell is also survived by brother, Mark Witt and wife Beth of Chinle, Arizona; and sister, Laura Copeland and husband Dave of Abilene, Texas.

A memorial service was held 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Llano Church of Christ with a private burial at the Valley Spring Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Llano Church of Christ Food Pantry.

Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300.

I remember singing with Sharrell in the Rider Hi A Capella Choir. She was indeed a dedicated and enthusiastic singer. I am so sorry not to have connected with her later in our lives.
