Larry Carl Jansen, 52, minister and family counselor, Butler County Community College adjunct faculty and author, died Thursday, April 11, 2002.  

Mr. Jansen was born Sept. 30, 1949 in Wichita, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Patterson) Jansen. He married Deborah Crockett on March 8, 1986 in Wichita. He attended Manhattan Christian College, receiving his B.A. in Bible Ministries, Anderson School of Theology in Anderson, Indiana, receiving his M.A. in New Testament and Theology and Friends University, earning his M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. 

Churches he has served include Rock (Kan.) Christian Church, the Junction City Christian Church, First Christian Church in Indianapolis, West Side Christian Church in Wichita, Andover United Methodist Church, Mulvane United Methodist Church, Town & Country Christian Church in Wichita and the Matfield Green Community Church. 

He authored the book "My Sister is Special," a children's book about children with Downs Syndrome.
