Janis was a good friend during junior high and high school.     She and Joanne Delaney went to            Webster Elementary School and I went to Central Elementary, so we didn't meet until Junior High located on the south end of the Central School building.

We had many fun times in band (little Janis playing her big saxophone!), in classes, enjoying sloppy joe suppers with our potluck group before home games, and riding around in her father's big Cadillac (again Little Janis driving that great big car!)

Random little memories about Janis:

1,  Janis and her mother cleaned every square inch of their house (and I mean EVERY SQUARE INCH!)  including washing every sweater and every square inch of fabric in that house twice a year.    So for a few weeks Janis had a rather restricted social life.

2.  She had frequent headaches and only Anacin would help.

3.  She was afraid of a hand held in a drooping position . . . . why, I don't know, but I do know that it was fun to torment her by drooping a hand over her head once in while.   (Sorry about that Janis!)

4.  She was a very good Spanish student, and she had a major crush on the WHS Spanish teacher,

5.  She had an older brother named Roger (I think).      Her mother was a teacher in Trenton, and was a very good house cleaner!     All I remember about her Dad is that he had a big very pretty aqua blue cadillac. They lived on about 5th-6th-7th Avenue West in Williston not far from Webster School and the Animal Park.

I don't remember where Janis went to college, and after High School we totally lost touch, so I don't have any more details.     I hope that somebody else does and will add them to this site.

May God Bless the memory of Janis Montgomery Russell.              Marilyn Forseth Nervig
