Carol Ann Mortenson VIEW PROFILE

Carol Ann Mortenson, 50, a longtime resident of central California and a former resident of Williston and the area, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 13, 2005, at her home in Paso Robles.

Her funeral will be celebrated Monday morning, Aug. 22, 2005, at 10:30 am at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Williston. Rev. Stephanie Lorenz will officiate and interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, northwest of Williston.

Carol Ann Mortenson was born on July 21, 1955 in Williston, to Clarence A. and Alteen T. (Vig) Mortenson.

She was raised and educated in the Williston area. She attended Tande Y Country School through the six grade.

As a child, Carol was involved with Missouri Ridge Township 4-H. She grew up on a farm and had a special love for animals. In 1967 she raised a grand champion ribbon calf. Carol graduated from Williston High School with the Class of 1973.

Carol worked in the advertising department at the Williston Daily Herald. In 1987 she moved to California with her son.

She attended Cuesta College Nursing School and the California Psych Tech program. She worked as a Psych tech and nurse at both Camarillo and Atascadero state hospitals in California, while earning her R.N. degree.

Carol enjoyed attending jazz and blues concerts. She also liked to go camping and hiking, and she loved the ocean.

Carol is survived by her son, Mick J. Wrolson of the United States Army, currently stationed in Giessen, Germany; her mother, Alteen T. Mortenson of Williston; her brothers, William C., Terry L. and Douglas C. Mortenson all of Williston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence A. Mortenson.
