Marlena J. George was the daughter of loving parents, Leonard & JoAnn Thomas, and is survived by her three girls Breanna, Taryn, and Mariah, son-in-law Andrew, fur baby Chloe, and so many other family members and friends that loved her dearly.

Marlena was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Her 3 girls were her world, keeping them close, on her infinity necklace with her, at all times. Marlena was their biggest cheerleader in every path they took.

Marlena dedicated her life to not only her own 3 daughters, but hundreds of children over the course of her 30 + years in Early Childhood Education. Marlena’s lifelong dream was to operate her own childcare facility where she knew children would thrive and learn. She was the proud Director of Expanding Our Kids World Daycare for 18 years. Marlena touched the lives of so many little ones and families.

Marlena most enjoyed traveling with family, the Philadelphia Eagles, and spending time making memories with her daughters!

Marlena will be immensely missed by all.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 11 AM to 12 PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 12 PM. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
