Thomas B. Jarome, age 48, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020. (July 31, 1972 ~ August 15, 2020.)

Born in Wilmington, DE, Tom was the son of the late George J. and Barbara (Woods) Jarome. He attended Salesianum High School and graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1991, where he was a standout football player. Tom was athletically gifted and was an incredible football player, who had received All State First Team honors and Defensive Player of the Year during high school. After graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy, he attended the University of Maryland, where he received a scholarship to play football.

For the past 14 years, Tom was a chemical operator with Dow-DuPont Company. He had an amazing work ethic and often worked seven days a week and still never missed a day of work.

After a long day at work, Tom found hobbies that allowed him to relax. He loved to play the guitar and blast his favorite music, which included Chris Cornell, Slayer and 70’s Classic Rock. Tom was also an avid reader, who loved biographies, as well as a history buff, who enjoyed watching documentaries about history and politics. In addition to his athletic talents, Tom was also a talented artist who enjoyed painting and writing poetry and verses.

Family was the most important part of Tom’s life. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Lauren, to the Bahamas, the Outer Banks and Cancun. Many special memories will be treasured from family vacations in earlier years to Long Beach Island with his parents and siblings. Nothing was more important than being a fun uncle to his nephew and nieces, whom he always kept laughing. Tom loved going to watch his nephew, Zach, play football for Salesianum and talking college football together. He also enjoyed watching his niece, Emily, play volleyball at Padua and Towson, as well as his niece, Hannah, play volleyball, field hockey and lacrosse.

Tom will be remembered for his amazing intellect and work ethic, as well as his great sense of humor. He was the life of the party and never a quiet person. Tom was a good storyteller and kept everyone entertained with amazing family stories from the past.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of five years, Lauren M. (Sweeney) Jarome; his brothers, Robert Jarome and his wife, Sandy and Stephen Jarome and his wife, Susan; his sister, Lisa Rosenberg and her husband, Alan; his nephew, Zachary Jarome; his nieces, Emily Jarome and Hannah Rosenberg; and his best friend since childhood, Glen Gardner. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved dogs, Opal and Lou, and his devoted cat, Boo Boo. Tom was predeceased by his parents, as well as his beloved dog, Riley.
