School Story:
the band bus, our award winning band, best in the area, Wilsonaire fun, accompanying for all the choirs, student conducting the band, Gil Carney's English class, his ties, writing essays every Friday, Jim Matthews History class, ' shaking in your shoes learning ' when being confronted with "what happened in the news?", French 2A class with those 'first on the East Coast' language labs and Monsieur Mitman's very French demeanor! I really could go on forever--all my unique and wonderful friends--what an amazing group of intelligent, creative, eccentric, talented and funny students and teachers in this school, drugs not yet a problem, still some respect for teachers and others over 30, still safe, even at night, to walk across town--------think about it---we had no idea how lucky we were, not to mention a loaf of bread for a quarter and a lemon coke at Lohrman's for a nickel, Meuser pool open till ten at night--wow!, an actual live dance band at a school dance. I finally understand why nostalgia and great, great memories are so important--AND, of course living through and watching our children and grandchildren grow up. Why? Our friends and relatives are dropping like flys, never know who is next---thank God for humor--those of us who are still here are looking old and have deteriorating health--including our minds {which are more often than not, like mashed crap, or, if you prefer mashed bananas! Someone hil me-can't remember name of the place past 25th st. in Wilson on Freemansburg Ave. where we got the amazing thick shakes--we even have one in Forks now--but they aren't as good--I'll remember this after I submit this and walk away from the computer!!! Anyway, I love you all and am looking forward to the big reunion. Guess I better send my check!
