Sandra Jean Miller (Weber) died August 17, 2016 under Pathways Hospice Care at the McKee Medical Center. Sandra was born on September 14, 1945 to John E. Weber and Eleanor Weber (Betz) in Greeley.
Sandra was raised in the Windsor area and attended Windsor School District where she graduated from Windsor High in 1963. She was very active in school by being involved as an officer of the pep club, youth group for girls and participated in several school plays. In 1961 she ran for Dutchess of Windsor and inquired Ronnie Miller to be her date. She not only won as Dutchess, but also Ronnie’s love where they became high school sweethearts. Sandy loved dancing and her favorite was the Dutch hop where Ronnie and her enjoyed many dates. After graduating, she became an assistant for Mr. McCall, the Windsor High School principal. She was respected for her dictation, short hand skills and mindfulness to details.
Ron and Sandy married on September 18th, 1966. A year later gave birth to their first son, Kevin, and left her work to stay home as a loving mother. Curtis was born in 1968 and she perfected her home making and caretaker abilities on the family farm.
In 1979 she returned to a working career starting at Rainsoft in Windsor until the company relocated. In June of 1986 Sandy started at Maxey trailer and equipment, where during her interview with Kathy Maxey, stated she wanted a career from which she could retire. Sandy celebrated her 30th year anniversary earlier this year in June.
In February of 1989 Sandy lost her husband Ron Miller in an accident near the farm. The same year she was blessed with her first grandson, Tyler. A few years later two additional grandsons Justin and Aaron entered her life. A great-granddaughter, Aalyiah, was also a blessing in 2012.
In early 1990s she met a special friend, David Wolfe, with whom she spent a very memorable life together until the time of her death.
Sandy enjoyed so many things in life, was very compassionate for people and her pets, admired her family history and engaged people with her caring words. She loved gardening and never missed entering her masterpieces in the Windsor Harvest festival where she won an abundance of awards over the years. Always buying gifts throughout the year to give Christmas presents to a multitude of children and various charities was a noteworthy attribute. Her devotion to Christmas lights and decorations were appreciated by carloads of spirited enthusiasts. Sandy loved spending time with David, going to Colorado Rockies games, watching fireworks, shopping, sharing her love of genealogy, keeping in contact with classmates, organizing class reunions and being the Guardian Keeper of class memorabilia. Her co-workers mentioned how delightful she was and the legacy she left due to her team spirit and kind-heartedness. Many friends still remember Sandy as the Lavender Lady during the days of the CB radio.
