A former Cowley County man died recently in a motorcycle accident in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to the man's mother.
Robert "Bobby" Lee Moberg, 26, of Honolulu, died Nov. 24. He was riding with five other motorcyclists when he lost control of his motorcycle, according to press reports from Honolulu.
His mother, Sara Jane Wadleigh, said Wednesday that her son loved to ride motorcycles and may have been speeding when the accident occurred. His motorcycle apparently skidded out of control, she said.
Moberg lived in Dexter until the age of 12. His moved to Winfield with his family as a youngster. He was baptized in the First Christian Church in Winfield, Wadleigh, now of Arkansas City, said.
He later served in the Army and was stationed in Honolulu. He continued to live there after the service. He married Yolanda Lacar-Moberg, who grew up in Hawaii, Wadleigh said.
