Michael Teibloom

Michael D. Teibloom, 16, of 238 ilpatrick Ave., Wilmette died Friday in Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago.

Born in Chicago, he lived in Los Angeles before moving to Wilmette in 1960.

Michael was a junior at New Trier West high school in Northfield.  He also was a member of Beth Hillell Congregation in Wilmette.

Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. MauriceTeibloom, his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fisher of Los Angeles; and a brother, Joel, and a sister, Judith, both at home.

Services were conducted Monday in Piser North Suburban Memorial Chapel in Skokie by Rabbi William Frankel and Cantor Irving Zummer.  

Burial was in Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in Chicago.

I sat next to Mike in several classes, he was a nice guy. I think he was in Mr Marz’s Homeroom; I remember we all went to the funeral.

Michael, Neil Strom, and Bruce Lustig were a "crew" in Junior High. We golfed, and were immersed in a French card game Mille Bournes that we played on endless summer nights. Michael was funny, extremely intelligent, and an overall incredible "mensch". His illness and death were a shock as no one knew he had Hodgkin's lymphoma. We just saw the aweful effects of therapies, but never understood the cause. Frustrating because now this cancer is nearly always curable. I missed him then and I miss him now.
