The funeral for Nancy Ann Schroht will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna, with the Rev. Louisa Fure officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna.

Mrs. Schroht, 52, of Owatonna, formerly of Winona, died of cancer Saturday (Dec. 22, 2001) at her home.

Nancy Smith was born March 16, 1949, in Winona. She graduated from Winona High School in 1967 and then attended Winona State University. She graduated in 1971 and accepted a teaching position in Owatonna. She married Donald Schroht on Aug. 14, 1976, at Trinity Lutheran Church. She taught in Owatonna public schools for 30 years and was a member of several professional organizations. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and working with flowers and plants.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Nicole Schroht of Eau Claire, Wis.; a son, Nathan of Owatonna; her mother, Anastasia Brady Smith of Winona; three sisters, Darlene (Kenneth) Luedtke of Winona, Joan (Stanley) East of Harmony and Kathleen (Dennis) Schmieder of Onalaska, Wis.; and two brothers, Charles Smith and Gary (Janine) Smith, both of Winona. She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Michaelson Funeral Home in Owatonna and one hour before the service Thursday at the church.
