Timothy J. Steffes, age 62, of Winona, Minn., died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse.

Tim was born Nov. 16, 1949, in Winona to Arthur and Ruth Steffes. He graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1967. He graduated from Winona State University and Saint Mary’s College. He served his country in the U.S Air Force, stationed at Chandler, Ariz.

Tim married Linda Monson on Nov. 8, 1969, in Winona. He is a member of St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He was employed by Hall Leonard, CENCON Inc., PTI and retired from Century Tel in 2007.

Tim always loved music; he loved hunting, fishing, golfing, curling and walking the bike path. Tim’s family has always been important to him.

He is survived by wife, Linda; sons, Michael (Mandy) Steffes and Patrick Steffes, both of Winona; grandchildren, Paige, Makayla and Payton; very special godchild, Lisa James; brothers, Thomas (Lynette) Steffes and Peter Steffes, both of Winona; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Doug Fruetel, Winona; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother and father-in-law, Hazel and Donald Monson; many aunts and uncles; and many cherished friends and hunting buddies.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Richard Moore, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Martin-Myhre Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. to the time of services Tuesday at the church.
