I hope I have this right, and if memory servers me correctly, back in the days before we had voice mail as part of the telephone system, Hortense was the voice of Wachovia to callers who reached the switchboard we had at the time.. I remember her cheery voice and in person she was always so upbeat with lots of smiles and laughter. You rarely saw her because she was always manning the switchboard and doing all within her poower to make the right connection between two parties. A dedicated Wachovian who made life a lot easier for all of us.
