Dr Charles Eugene Looper, 72, died March 4, 1993.
He was born in Greenville, SC.  Dr Looper received a BA degree from Furman Univ., an MS degree from Louisiana State Univ, and a PhD from Georgetown Univ.  He was awarded a Ford Fellowship to the London School of Economics.  He was a member of the Blue Key National Leadership Society and is listed in "Who's Who in America".    He served as Lieutenant, Senior Grade, in the US Navy during WWII.

Dr Looper was Professor and Head of the Political Science Dept @ Furman.  He left teaching to pursue  career in banking  @ Wachovia, where he became SVP, Director of Personnel.  He later served SE Banking Corporation in Miami in the same capacity.
