Roy Rogers

After getting a A/S degree in Citrus Production from Polk Junior College in Winter Haven Florida, I was called to the U.S. Army. I joined the Army Security Agency and served in Pleiku,South Vietnam. I married June Foster in August of 1967 and went into the Army in July of 1968. After returning from the war I went to work for South Lake Apopka Citrus Growers across from Lakeview school. I worked 22 years until the freezes closed the company. I then was hired by Faryna Grove care in Umatilla and have now been here 19 years. I will be part time retired in 2011. June and I have lived in Montverde for 40 years. Both my daughters are married and I have 2 Grandaughter's and 2 Grandson's. June is a 5th grade teacher in Lake County.
