Bobby Blanton, 40, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA after a long battle with MS. He was a member of Stevens Chapel, a 1989 Graduate of J.J. Kelly High School, a former employee of Halliburton and he loved hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He was very much loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his daughter, Courtney Leighann Blanton of Bristol, TN; parents Jack and Birdie Blanton of Wise, VA; two brothers, David Blanton and Ryan Blanton of Wise, VA; a sister, Emily Wyatt and husband Justin of Wise, VA; three very special nephews, Jaron, Landon and Brantley; his grandmother, Monette Blanton of Wise, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Bobby Blanton will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Bob Eldridge officiating. The Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Hill Family Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 10:20 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
