SEPTEMBER 28, 2012 Dan Fraley, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, VA. with his family at his side following a long illness. He was a loving and giving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dan had the gift of making people laugh. He could walk into a room regardless the situation and make someone smile. Dan was of the Christian Faith, a 1957 graduate of J.J. Kelly High School, he served in the United States Army and was a retired employee of Old Dominion Power Company. Surviving are his true Love of 32 years, Barbara Burgess; their combined family, Dana Rankin and husband Dean, Jeff Fraley, Steven Fraley and wife Michelle, Adam Fraley and Teresa Adkins and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Alicia, Kevin, Monica, Brandon, Brooke, Sydney and Caden; great-grandchildren, James, Chloe, Dakota, Isaac and Marley; a sister, Estelle Cox; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Dan Fraley will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Randy Sturgill and Pastor Robert Fultz Jr. officiating. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till time of services at 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Burial and graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 1, 2012 in the Wise Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the cemetery.
