Dwayne didn't graduate with us because a family situation forced him to leave school early. He joined the military, went to Vietnam, and then returned to Wise County. Quite frankly, Dwayne Maggard was the best man I have ever known. He was a self-made, very successful businessman, and very intelligent. His heart was as big as all outdoors, and all so quietly opened his wallet to help people who were in need. Wise County needs more people like him. He did so much good in so many ways for its people. He was funny, warm and giving--and so good to his family. I know his wife, children, and brother miss him. I was proud to call him friend and miss him terribly.
