After a short illness, Emy was surrounded by her husband and daughters when she went to be with her Lord on her birthday.  A native of Woodland, Emy graduated from Woodland High School in 1962, taking pride in being Woody the Wolf - something many of her classmates did not know.  After working as a secretary for the Yolo County Agriculture Dept. and Yolo General Hospital, Emy left her secretarial duties behind and went to work at Mobil Chemical, where she became the first woman machine operator at the company.  Despite working crazy hours and existing on little sleep, Emy's love of family always took precedence over everything.  She always said yes when our dear Aunt Jane Reiff asked for help volunteering at the Yolo County Historical Society's lemonade stand during the fair, and attended every event her kids participated in - and loved their friends as unconditionally as she loved her own children.  

Emy's love of bowling, music and dancing created wonderful memories.  She always enjoyed dancing the night away at Harvey Brown dances; held her own while bowling with Earl Anthony and many others at Pro-Am tournaments; and treasured seeing Elvis Presley in concert twice (we're pretty sure she finally got that kiss she wanted!).

In 2006, Emy and Terry moved to Minden, NV and quickly made many friends when they became members at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville.  In addition to serving on several committees, Emy widened the circle of those who loved her by sharing her kind heart, generous smile and big hugs with everyone she met. Her joyous spirit and unconditional love that she shared so freely will be remembered by everyone who knew her.

Emy is missed terribly by her loving husband of 57 years, Terry; daughters, and sons-in-law, Angela and Keith Swatsley and Andrea and Mick Mueller; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and David Nakamura; sister, Ann Butler; special uncle, Neal Butler; grandson, David Gentry; great-granddaughter, Amelia Gentry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who are family at heart. Emy is also survived by son, Jim Morris (Alecia) and grandchildren, Jake, Joe and Samantha Morris.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Margie and Jim Butler, and numerous other family and friends, who were waiting to celebrate her birthday when she arrived in Heaven.
