Gilbert Holguin Sr. Obituary

Gilbert Holguin Sr. was born in Canutillo, TX on January 22, 1943 and moved to Woodland, CA with his family when he was a child.  

Our father passed away on March 23, 2024 at the age of 81.  He is survived by his brother Arturo; children Gilbert Jr., Gloria and Darrel; Grandchildren Paeje, Vanessa, Anthony, Kohl and Dominic; Great-grand children Elijah and Enalyse as well as numerous nieces and nephews who all loved him very much.  Our Father is proceeded in death by his Father Juan, Mother Aurora, brothers Alfonso, Juan, Angel, Raymond; Sisters Socorro, Celia, Carmen, Estela and Gloria.

Our father was a humble, dedicated and hard working man who worked for Heidrick farms right out of high-school to support his family.  He then went on to work for Culligan and was a well known “Culligan man” for several years before returning to Heidrick farms where he worked until he retired.  Our father will always be remembered for being strong willed, free spirited, generous and with a love of music and classic cars.  Our father will be missed dearly.

A mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church 575 California Street in Woodland on April 19th at 10am. A graveside funeral will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery 800 West St in Woodland. A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends who would like to join (TBA)
