William Gaylord Tarpley, 61, of Wooster, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at his home.

He was born March 7, 1949, in Wooster, the son of the late William Junior and Mazie (Strickland) Tarpley.

William was a manager for Sears & Roebuck Company. He served on a board at the Community Center for senior citizens and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion.

Surviving are daughters, Delphine Tarpley and Gayleen Tarpley, both of Wooster; grandchildren, Damon, Davion and Donovan; a sister, Cassandra Wilson of Akron; and a brother, Brian Tarpley of Wadsworth.
