I am so sad to hear about Harry's death. It was wonderful to see him at the reunion. This news makes me doubly glad I attended. I got the biggest hug from him. He sat behind me in homeroom for all three years of high school. He opened my locker for me nearly every morning (I don't remember why--I must have had trouble dealing with the combination--). I know he is lovingly remembered by all of us.

Harry was one of the nicest and most considerate people I had the pleasure of knowing. We were in contact by e-mail and sent each other books that we both thought the other would enjoy. I am glad I was able to spend so much time with him at our 50th reunion. I will miss my friend.

Very sad that we have lost Harry. He was one of the good guys. I had some long talks with Harry at the reunion and he was very happy with hs life, family, friends , and work. Some of our classmates have sent condolences directly to his family from the link that was provided on his funeral. Harry was the ultimate friend, always willing to help anyone, loved competition (especially wrestling and football), and was an excellent student. With over 500 in our class, no one could know everyone. For those who knew Harry, your life had to be enhanced by his freindship.

So sorry to hear of Harry's passing. We were best of friends from early age, spending lots of time at each other's homes. In addition to being wrestling teammates, we hunted and fished together throughout college.   My wife and I had lunch with Harry the day of the reunion when he informed me of his condition and the treatment he was undergoing . He was optimistic about his outcome. All of us who had the great fortune of knowing Harry will miss him greatly.

Very sad to learn of Harry's passing from Alan Trachtenberg [we were "talking" about the upcoming football team reunion at CHS on Sept 11, which Harry had arranged].  I was able to spend an hour [maybe more] with Harry at the breakfast Sun morning following the reunion -- it was so very good to see him, share memories, etc.   He was not well, but, I was hoping he'd be at the football team reunion.

Among many topics, Harry and I noted that the memorial sculpture to Bobby Isken was buried far inside the office at CHS and we should contact the school regarding moving it into the outer lobby area [guess I better get on that, now].  It was Harry who worked with me in the fall of 1964 to raise the money and commision the sculpture in Bobby's honor for which I was always grateful.

Sorry I won't be seeing you again my friend.  In your honor I will ask everyone to EAT A NECTARINE -- IT'S A HALF A PEACH, A HALF A PLUM, -- IT'S A HELL OF A FRUIT !!!

Best memory of Harry was his smile. He seemed truly happy everytime I saw him.
