In Memory

Wanda Lynn Lukaart (Jacobs)

Wanda Jacobs, age 70, left this earth for her Heavenly home on May 10, 2020.

She was born on May 28, 1949, the second child to Donna & William Lukaart. She grew up in the Galewood area and attended Lee High School where she would meet and marry her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Russ Jacobs. Together, Wanda & Russ held the honor of being crowned Queen and King of their graduating class of 1967. They would build a life that included their three boys, Kevin, Matt and Nate, which were the pride and joy of her life. Wanda loved spending time with her family and grandkids, always celebrating holidays and birthdays with a big group and plenty of food and good times. She also loved watching all her grandkids sporting events and cheering them on. Always willing, she spent lots of time helping as a babysitter and loving every minute of it.

Wanda also enjoyed time with her sisters, going for long breakfasts, lunches, shopping and winter getaways to Florida which always included a lot of fun and lots of laughter. Some of these trips included her special friend, Pam, her “sister in Christ” who Wanda was lucky enough to have in her life for fifty two years. As Wanda aged her health would begin to deteriorate and life was a struggle. Wanda became a candidate for a double lung transplant through Spectrum Health. She would wait three years, but in the end, she became the 67th person to receive a new set of lungs. The courage she endured! Even though it is bittersweet, Wanda’s whole family was extremely blessed beyond measure for three and a half years to share, love and enjoy life. Wanda was much like that donor, unselfish, willing to sacrifice anything to help others and never needing anything herself and willing to share with others.

She will be greatly missed by her three boys and their families, Kevin (KaLonny) and their children, Ciara, Reece, Grace, Jordan, Trevan and Kaidan; Matthew (Angie) and his children, Austin, Jyalen, Kailei, Dillon and Adyson; Nathan (Becky) and their children, Jordan and Charlotte; loving brothers and sisters, Randy (Nancy) Lukaart, Steve (Darcy) Lukaart, Jane (Harry) Segard, Karen (Jim) Oostveen and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Russ Jacobs; and Jamie Rodriguez.

Per her wishes, no services will be held. Please consider becoming an organ donor.
