Donald Lee Niles, Jr. died Sunday, July 12th. Donnie, as his friends and family knew him, was born Dec. 17th 1961. He was son, brother, uncle, and father. Although he had faced numerous hardships in his life you could still see a bit of the old jokester when you looked deep into his eyes. Donnie was born and raised in Yakima Wa. He served in the United States Army in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and was a father to four children. He is survived by his daughters, Kayla Guzman of Tri Cities, Wa., and Donica Niles of Wapato Wa.; his two boys, Andrew and Aaron Niles, both of Yakima Wa.; his mother, DeAun Niles of Yakima, Wa.; his sisters, Shellie Zamora of Naches, Wa. and Lana Wharton of Carmel-by-the- Sea, Ca.; and his brothers, Geoerl Niles of Camas Wa., and Shawn Niles of Yakima. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Niles, Sr. Don was a thinker and he could talk for hours about issues that were important to him, his kids his family and if you got him started on his thoughts on God he could talk for hours. He was not only a thinker but a tinkerer. If you knew Donnie you knew he could fix just about anything, and if he couldn’t he would never admit it, he would just break it even more and tell you, “you needed a new one anyway”. He loved to fish and could tell you about every good fishing hole, (It didn’t matter if he had ever been there.) We love you Donnie and hope you catch that elusive “big one.” Now you really can rest on the Shepherd’s shoulders.
