Michael Bresnahan VIEW PROFILE

BOARDMAN - A prayer service will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Boremeo Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. for Michael J. Bresnahan, 65, who passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, March 14, at Hospice of the Valley, surrounded by family.

“Mike” was born Nov. 23, 1951, the son of William W. and Margaret Lucas Bresnahan. He was a 1970 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and attended Marietta College and Youngstown State University.

For much of his working life, he was general manager of the Rolled Wire Products Division of Hynes Industries Inc. Mike was a member of the management team at Hynes for 34 years and served on its board of directors until 2014.

He was active in community affairs. He served on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown, and generously supported a number of local charities. He was an avid golfer and a member of The Lake Club and Salem Golf Club, an occasional fisherman, and was the world’s luckiest poker player. Most of all, he loved being a part of a congenial group of people who were enjoying each others’ company. Mike was a loving husband and father, and “Uncle Muck” was a favorite to more than 30 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Preceding Mike in death were his parents and a sister, Mary Jo Olson.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Sheila (Page) Bresnahan; son Sean Page; sisters Susan B. McHugh of Sylvania and Kathleen B. (Christopher) Ackerman of Cary, N.C.; brothers William J. (Joyce) Bresnahan of Naples, Fla., Patrick C. (Jill) Bresnahan of Boardman, David L. Bresnahan of Poland, and Timothy T. (Kelly) Bresnahan of Canfield; sisters-in-law Toni (Bob) Magnoski and Leslie (Dale) Sausman; brother-in-law Michael (Jeanne) Page; and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to the staff at Hospice, the family would like to extend a special thanks to Mike’s cousins, Bo Cencia and Teresa Masters, whose love and care made such a difference during his illness.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Animal Charity Humane Society, 4140 Market St., Boardman, OH, 44512, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

So sad to hear that my old high school buddy had passed away so soon. Regretfully, I have not had the chance to see and talk to Mike, but very seldom, over the many years since graduation. Mike was a geat guy and will be missed by many.

Mike, may God Bless and rest your soul, and take you to Him. Until we meet again old pal...Ed Farris
