GREENVILLE, S.C. — Doris Lynn Hruska, 71, formerly of Youngstown, passed away suddenly at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Born in Youngstown, Doris was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary Agnes Hudran Zordich. Doris was a 1970 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. She was a member of St. Matthias Parish, a homemaker while raising her son, and an involved member of the St. Matthias Home and School Association, then was a nurses aide until her retirement.

Doris was an avid lover of crossword puzzles, Hallmark movies, gardening and wildlife, especially birds. While she cherished her privacy, she enjoyed engaging with people, including her long-term friends, and even random strangers she would encounter during her outings.

Doris leaves behind her son, Steve (Megan) Hruska of Greenville, S.C.; her brother, Tony (Patti) Zordich of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two grandchildren, Tyler Sullivan and Evan Hruska of Greenville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother, Steve, and her sister, Laverne, whom she missed dearly.

Per her wishes, there will not be a formal memorial. Any contributions can be made in her honor to any organization aimed towards the conservation of wildlife.
