I attended the seminary for several years with Steve in Cincinnati. We were close friends then, but we lost contact shortly after his ordination in about 1966. (I left the seminary in the fifth year.) I knew his family, and was stunned when I heard that he had died not too many years after his ordination. We went fishing and boating together. I'm sorry I can't offer more information. He was a good person, and I think I can assume he was also a fine priest. He was one of the very few from our class who was ordained. Most of us left the seminary, a few left the priesthood and two passed away. I'm sure Steve believed in what he was doing.
