Kennisha L. Wimer, 28, of Beach Park (Kiki from the BP), IL passed away July 5th, 2018. Kennisha was in a car accident that transpired in South Haven, MS. Kennisha was taken to Regional One Health Trauma Center Memphis, TN where she remained June 9th through July 5th fighting to recover from her injuries. Kennisha’s family and friends were by her side every step of the way. On July 5th, our sweet angel went to be with the Lord. She was born to Tijuanda and Kenneth Wimer of Beach Park, Illinois on April 16, 1990 in Wetzlar, Germany. Kennisha went to Grafenwoehr Elementary, GE, Skyline Elementary, Stillwater, OK., Northwood Middle School, Beach Park Middle School, and Zion-Benton Township High School in Illinois.

Kennisha earned an Associate of Arts Degree at the College of Lake County IL. She was currently a senior at Southern Illinois University majoring in Accounting. Kennisha found her passion as the Events Lead at Sweet Pete’s Candy Shop that inspired her to create and share delicious confectionary treats. Her greatest aspiration was to become an accountant that would eventually fund her very own sweet shop business.

Kennisha  aka “Kiki” aka “Puff,” was a vigorous young woman with endless compassion and kindness for those whom she loved, even momentary acquaintances. Kennisha’s close friends knew her to be focused, reliable and an all-around beautiful person! With the most humility, Kennisha did what she wanted to do! She felt that life was an adventure and believed in having an “experience” no matter how big or small. Kennisha knew she had a voice and used it to speak life into thousands of individuals. She inspired many, young and seasoned, alike. Many people; men and women admired Kennisha for her tenacity, kindred spirit, and her modeling of convictions. With her contagious smile gone, a light in this dark world has dimmed!

Kennisha is survived by her parents Tijuanda and Kenneth Wimer; her sister Brianna Wimer. She also leaves her maternal grandparents, Ledresta and Van Harvey, of Falcon, Colorado; and her paternal grandparent, Linda Keplinger of Petersburg, West Virginia. She is also survived by her fiancée, Tyler Braswell of Zion, IL. and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Although Kennisha is class of 2008, we still honor and celebrate her life.
