Walt and I were good friends from Bon Aire school.  We lost touch in 8th grade when I went to the junior high and he stayed at Lyndora.  We had many adventures together along with many of my classmates from Bon Aire.  So many of my friends from early years are gone.  I miss them and think of them often.  Rest in Peace Walt and thanks so much for wonderful memories.    Marsh

Walt and I were good friends too and like Marsh said we have lost too many! Walt always had a smile on his face, had quick wit and seemed to always be in a good mood. Even though I didn't see him often, it was always great when I did. Rest in peace my friend...you will be missed!

Walt and I spent a lot of time together in 6, 7 and 8 grades. We called him Larry in those days. Driving distance from his house to mine was a couple of miles, but if we walked a short distance through the woods it only took a few minutes. So it was easy for us to get together. My parents loved him and loved having him at our house. I remember sled riding down the hill from Walt's neighbor Eddy Eury's house one winter. The snow was deep so we got it packed down really hard, then poured buckets of hot water on the snow and it turned to hard ice. It was steep and it was scary, especially at night.

I remember Walt's mother. She was always glad to see us together because we alway had a lot of fun.

One of Walt's older brothers was a U. S, Marine. I can't remeber which one. I do remember his stories about being stationed in Memphis , TN where I spent a few months after boot camp.  A. J. Richard's older brother Robby was also in the Marines. They were both an influence on me joining the Marines.

My heart aches for his family because I know they miss him a lot. I pray for their peace and comfort.
