Obituary for Joyce "Joy" A. Johnson

Joyce "Joy" A. Johnson, 69, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born June 24, 1946 in Butler, the daughter of the late George and Marjorie (Patrizio) Laconi.

Joy was a member of St. Peter's Church and a graduate of Butler Senior High Class of 64'. She was an entertainer who loved people and liked to have fun. She enjoyed shopping, interior decorating, cooking and her card club. She had been the owner of a restaurant and catering business and had been a member of the Jr. Women's Club. Joy's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Jody Ford and Ed and Ginny Johnson.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years whom she married June 24, 1946, William Johnson of Butler; daughter, Shelley (Johnson) Wolfe and her husband, Dan of Butler; son, Dirk Johnson and his wife, Sheila of Ebensburg; grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Wolfe and Jordan, Zander, Nolan and Karson Johnson; sister, Eloise (Laconi) Janeczko and her husband, Jerry of Ohio; nephew and niece, Blake Britnee Spryn; great-niece, Bailee Spryn; and her special dog, Pebbles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Laconi.

Friends and family will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 11AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 12PM with Rev. Jim Lewis officiating.
