Elmer C. Mondell Jr.
Elmer Charles "Butch" Mondell Jr., of Millsboro, Del., died suddenly Saturday in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del. He was 62.
Butch was the son of Elmer Charles Mondell Sr. and the late Evelyn Frenchak Mondell of Coraopolis.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. He also a member of the American Legion Post 28.
Butch was preceded in death by his mother, the late Evelyn Mondell; and his wife, Mauricelene D. "Penny" Mondell.
Butch is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Mooneyham of Kodiak, Alaska, and Lynette Paxton of Lexington, S.C.; one granddaughter, Amelia; his father, Elmer Charles Mondell Sr.; three brothers, the Rev. Richard Mondell of Goldsboro, N.C., Robert Mondell of Milford, Del., and Ronald Mondell of Glenpoole, Okla.; one sister, Maryann Mondell of Pittsburgh; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins, many beloved friends; and his special friend and companion, Carolyn Hughes, who loved and cared for him faithfully until the end.
MONDELL - Friends and family of Elmer Charles "Butch" Mondell Jr., who died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, were received Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, Del. A funeral service was held Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Mondell officiated. Burial was in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Elmer Charles "Butch" Mondell Fund, c/o Robert Mondell, 719 New St., Milford, DE
