Marlene Elizabeth Vecchio, 64, of Butler lost her eight-year battle with cancer May 1 at her home.
Born Feb. 15, 1946, in Butler, she was a daughter of Mary (Logut) Rozic and the late Joseph Rozic.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening.
She also was a devoted member of the Catholic Daughters of America and a mission rosary maker for the Holy Cross Family Rosary Ministries for many years.
She will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.
Surviving are her husband, Tony Vecchio, who she married May 23, 1993; her mother, Mary Rozic of Butler; two sons and their wives, Brian and Tracey Swall of Manassas, Va., and Edward and Marie Swall of Sterling, Va.; six grandchildren, Chris, Katie, T.J., Vanessa, Meghan and Amanda Swall; a sister, Ellie Benson of Butler; and two brothers, Bernie Rozic of Butler and Joe Rozic of Hawaii.
VECCHIO - There will be no visitation. Family and friends of Marlene Elizabeth Vecchio, who died Saturday, May 1, 2010, are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial celebrating her life at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev. George Palick will officiate.
