School Story:
My high school years were some of the most wonderful years of my life. I was fortunate enough to have made many friendships that have lasted all of these years. I frequently speak with and see dozens of our former classmates. Some of them are my best friends to this day. We have been in each others weddings, been their for our children's births and comforted each other when our parents have passed. I am truly a lucky man.
Some of my most fond memories are those years while I worked on our yearbook "Totem". Mrs. Whiteside gave all of us such incredible freedom to do our jobs. I made many friends along the way and was often tested by others to push it to the limit. I can't say enough about Mr. Givens. I consider myself blessed to have been taught by him. He inspired me in ways that are still reflected in my life today. He is one of the best people I have ever met. I try to see him at least once a year and when I do, we get lost in the many hours of intellectual conversation.
Always enjoyed the football games, Beach Week, Burger Chef, 42nd Street "Disco Dancing", Sand Key Beach, cruisen the 200 hall and never understood why we were made to sweat in classes that did not have A/C. Thank God for the those big industrial fans that were overhead to cool us just a little bit.
