Scott Everton

Everton, Christopher Scott, 53, of Odessa, passed away in his sleep with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florentine Everton and Walter R. Everton Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ann Everton; sister, Leslie Brice of Canton, Ga; brothers, Chip and Brian of Tampa, Alan of Palm Harbor and Dean of Tarpon Springs; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Scott was a lifelong Tampa Bay area resident who became an innovative and successful insurance professional as National Vice President of sales for Long Term Care Financial Solutions. Many Tampa area residents came to know him as "Scott from Odessa". He was a frequent contributor to sports radio talk shows, airing his sometimes controversial, but always entertaining opinions on world sports. Scott was an accomplished athlete himself, with NASCAR racing and golf as his special passions. His family and many friends will cherish their memories of brilliance, wit, warmth and zest for life. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 10 am to 12 Noon, with a service to follow at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel. Private Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thonotosassa. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research in Scott's memory. Https:// www.stjude.org/
