Jon was a very smart and interesting person. Unfortunately he had very bad asthma which meant he was often absent from school and had a difficult struggle. Nonetheless he became a very competent lawyer, and once helped me with something very important to me at the time. His mother and my mother of blessed memory were very good friends.

He left the world very young, and this is always a great source of sorrow.

I absolutely agree with Seymour. I was in math and English classes with Jon. He was genuinely gifted, in contrast to those of us who worked hard, avoided trouble, and did our homework. With current treatments, he probably would have lived a longer life.

Having just received notification of Steve's comments, thought I would add a little more, even though it has been some time since Jon's passing.  Being a school 18 product and living out in Britton Kill, I only knew Jon in high school.  My closest contact came though hockey where he became the equipment manager.  He perservered despite is very bad asthma and became the back up goalie.  He did a pretty fair job and in fact had to fill in when the regular goalie(don't remember him) was out(?sick).  Don't recall who we were playing or the result but he was  enthusiastic about the opportunity.   I would wager that he never forgot that event. Interesting that he became a lawyer and would have liked to have learned more about his life in light of his severe asthma.

Went to School 18 with Jon an then at THS we, and his cousin Mark, were in the same homeroom. As I recall he and Ronnye Berg lived in the same 2 flat house on Cooper Ave in Sycaway. A gentle, sweet guy with never a negative word about anyone. But he did struggle with asthma.  RIP Jon.

We lived on the same dead-end street as Jon and Steve Faigenbaum, where friends and neighbors for the 12 years we lived there. They had the first tv on the street, which we neighbor kids would watch through the window as we sat on the front porch, Howdy Doody and test patterns. Jon was a gentle guy, an observer, was kind and read a lot. He was fun an interesting to talk with. My parents bought a used VW microbus in 1956 from a fellow in NYC. Mrs. Faigenbaum was visiting a relative there and drove my father, my brother and I there to pick it up. Jon came with us and we had a chance to talk all the way there. I can see why he chose law, with his intellect and patience.

We lived on Mt. Pleasant Avenue; the same block as the Faigenbaums.  As I recall, Jon was not only an attorney but a CPA with a successful career in NYC until he passed away.  He lived at London Terrace at West 23rd Street in what is now considered Chelsea.  I have very fond memories of Jon.

I also remember Jon.   To me, he was a gentle giant....and very very smart!   Looking back, I can say that the Class of 1956 at School 18 was quite a gathering of amazing people. It is wonderful to know Jon enjoyed such a successful career.   His memory is a blessing.    Doris
