July 8, 1946 - December 18, 2009
Joseph L. DeFilippis was born July 8, 1946 in Troy, New York and moved to Florida in 1980. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be missed very much by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia DeFilippis of North Port, FL; two sons, Evan (Shelly) DeFilippis of Tampa, FL and Matthew (Courtney)DeFilippis of Englewood, FL; a sister, Bonnie Shaver of Port Charlotte, FL; a brother, Anthony DeFilippis of Columbia, SC; and two grandsons. Ethan and Gavin.

Joe was quite a guy! We played flag football and baseball at School 18 prior to high school. He worked at Tick's Market on Hoosick Street and seemed to disappear after school. Always a gentleman. Went to School 18 with his sister, Bonnie and her friend Linda Knapp, both sweethearts. RIP, Joe.
