

Youngs, Howard F. TUCSON, Ariz. Howard F. Youngs, 74 of Tucson Ariz. and Troy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his residence in Tucson surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy on January 29, 1948, he was the son of Ada Pangburn Youngs and Richard Theodore Youngs, both predeceased. He graduated from Troy High School in 1965 and Clarkson College of Technology in 1969, where he received a B.S.M.E. degree. He then joined Texaco's R&D group in Beacon, N.Y., where he met the love of his life, Kathleen Nicholson. They were joined in marriage on July 4, 1970, and shared 52 wonderful years together. He enjoyed donating his time to local volunteer fire departments, playing in pick-up hockey games, gardening, meteorology, and building overly-engineered home improvement projects. He had various jobs from New York City up to the Capitol District area and subsequently the family moved to Tucson in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; son, Mark Youngs; daughter, Wendy Youngs; granddaughter, Maleah Gonzales, and grandson, Joshua Gonzales, all of Tucson. He is also survived by brother, David (Christine) of New Bern, N.C.; sisters, Linda Mitchell of Johnsonville, and Chris Vitolins of Glenville; his sisters-in-law, Christine (Bruce) Sutphin of Clifton Park, and Eileen (Bill) Leith of Tucson; his brother-in-law, John (Sue) Nicholson of Tucson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He has donated his remains to Research for Life (www.researchforlife.org) for medical research purposes. No services are planned. Charitable contributions may be made in his name to the Northwest Fire Department at Station 38, 13535 N. Marana Main St., Marana, AZ, 85653 or to the charity of your choice.
