
SMALL-FISH, JEANNE TROY - Jeanne E. Small-Fish, 48, of Troy, died suddenly on Sunday, July 31, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in Troy, NY on August 4, 1962 to Elizabeth Small and the late Rev. Jake Small. Jeanne was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served as the Church Clerk. She is a 1980 graduate of Troy High School. She received her college education at Hudson Valley Community College, and the State University of NY at Oneonta where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree. She performed her internship at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, NY. She was employed at Bellevue Women's Hospital where she worked in Medical Imaging until her death. Her hobbies were chess and golf. She never missed a pedicure, manicure or hair appointment. Jeanne was a very loving, caring person and true pillar in the community. She will definitely be missed. She was a member of International Free and Accepted Eastern Stars. She was the loving wife to John J. Fish, Jr. They were married in Holy Matrimony at the Bethel Baptist Church on September 5, 1998 where the services were performed by the Rev. James E. Cobbins. In addition to her husband, survivors include three foster children; sisters, Angelina (Deacon John) Moore of Troy, NY, Dr. Zella M. Small (David Kennedy) of Fayetteville, NY, Theresa (Albert) Blankenship of Troy, NY, Kathleen Small-Lopez of Manlius, NY, Carol (Deacon Roy) Harvin of Troy, NY, Vivian (Willie) Phillips of Troy, NY, and Frontina Taylor of Troy, NY; one brother, Jake Small, Sr. She leaves the following in-laws; Mother in law, Angela Fish of Schenectady, NY, Step-son Joshua Gwendolyn, Step-grandson Isaiah Borin, Sisters-in-law Mary (Charles) Wilsey of Albany, NY, Angela (Pard) Chan of Rockland County, NY, Alice Hartsharn of Watervliet, NY, Nancy (Joseph) Valler of Williamsville, NY, Paula Fish of Fort Johnson, NY, Frances (Mark) Csontos of Schenectady, NY, Brother-in-law Peter (Brenda) Fish of Castleton, NY; God-sister of Michael (Virginia) Pompey; and also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family. She is predeceased by; Brother, Benjamin Small and Sister, Edith (Benjamin) Carr.
